Our Approach – Theory of Change

We work to generate positive financial, social and environmental returns for British Columbia

The Government of British Columbia passed legislation in May 2021 to create InBC Investment Corp. It was established as an independent $500 million strategic investment fund to provide a source of local and long-term capital for small- and medium-sized businesses.

InBC’s vision is to catalyze a more prosperous, sustainable and inclusive future for British Columbia. This impact will be achieved by deploying capital to drive innovation in British Columbia using a triple bottom line approach, guided by four impact objectives – advance reconciliation, drive climate action, elevate inclusive communities and innovate for the future.

InBC’s work will build upon and add to existing efforts of the provincial government and leaders and organizations across the province to advance the economy in three main areas:

  1. Address capital gaps for companies and diverse entrepreneurs
  2. Advance business imperative for tracking ESG and impact metrics
  3. Usher change through collaboration
InBC's Theory of Change

* DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
* ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance)

Our ecosystem of collaborators

We are thankful to the many organizations and groups across the province for engaging with us in roundtables, discussions and thought leadership to advance dialogue and our collective goals to build a thriving business and innovation landscape in British Columbia.
